GOSB Teknopark A.S. which was established in 2002 as a Technology Development Zone, opened the doors of its new buildings to entrepreneurs in the last quarter of 2005. Today, it contains over 60 Research & Development and software companies.
The founding objective of GOSB Technopark is to support the development and production of internationally competitive, high value added, advanced technology based goods and services by promoting cooperation and coordination with universities and industry. Accordingly, GOSB Technopark works closely with Kocaeli University and Sabanc University.
One of the main factors differentiating GOSB Teknopark from other technopark projects in Turkey is its position inside the Gebze Organized Industrial Zone (GOSB), which is recognized as one of the country's most developed and modern organized industrial zones. The 89 companies located with GOSB employ over 10,000 people.
